Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born
August 26, 2002. He is known as Lil Tecca. The rapper gained fame with the
release of his 2019 hit single "Ransom" that peaked at number 4 on
the Billboard Hot 100. The song was part of his mixtape debut "We Love You
Tecca" (2019) which peaked at the 4th spot on the US Billboard 200. It
also contained the singles "Love Me" and "Did It Again".
The album he released as his debut called Virgo World (2020) was released on
the Billboard 200 at number 10. It included the Billboard Hot 100
chart-charting songs "Dolly", and "When You Down". His
follow-up mixtape, called We Love You Tecca 2, was released in August 2021 and
included "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony
Sharpe was a child of Jamaican immigrants. He was born August 26, 2002 in
Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in Queens' Springfield Gardens, and
later relocated to Cedarhurst on Long Island. Sharpe was a child who had
ambitions to become a basketball player. However, his attention shifted towards
music at the age of twelve. Sharpe completed his studies at Lawrence High
School. Tecca aged nine at the time, was rapping along with the other students
with his Xbox to record. They would make diss tracks directed at one another
that was uploaded to SoundCloud many years ago. However, it was removed. The
singer initially didn't intend to pursue a music career, but he dreamed of
becoming a NBA star. When he was in middle school However, he began to become
bored with basketball and started taking music seriously. His first track to
gain some traction, "Tectri", was composed by him and his friend, Lil
Gummybear, and was released in early 2017. Tecca also released
"Callin" as one of his first songs. The career of Tecca began a year
later with the hit single "Ransom", which was released to Cole
Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel in May 22 in 2019. The song climbed
to number 4 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. It has received over 990 million
Spotify plays and over 300,000,000 YouTube views.
